Government Subsidies

Smart & Skilled

Smart and Skilled is a reform of the NSW Vocational Education and Training (VET) system. It’s helping people in NSW get the skills they need to find a job and advance their careers.

Smart and Skilled provides eligible students with:

  • an entitlement to NSW Government-subsidised training up to and including Certificate III

  • NSW Government funding for higher-level courses (Certificate IV and above) in targeted priority areas.

Community Service Obligation (CSO) Funding

The NSW Government’s Adult and Community Education (ACE) Program provides additional support to disadvantaged students who have barriers to studying a full qualification. The ACE Program aims to promote access and increase vocational education and training outcomes for those who experience significant barriers to training and employment.

JobTrainer/Skilling for Recovery 

The Skilling for Recovery Training Initiative is part of a matched funding commitment of almost $320 million between the NSW and Australian government’s under the JobTrainer Fund. Skilling for Recovery is a key component of the State’s COVID-19 Recovery Plan. As an approved provider, Mid North Coast Community College has training places and funding available.

Foundation Skills for Your Future (FSYF)

MNCCC is a member of a panel of service providers (registered training organisations) selected by the Australian Government to deliver the Foundation Skills for Your Future program over a four-year period, ending in June 2023.

The program is designed to assist employers with developing the Language, Literacy, Numeracy and Digital (LLND) skills of their workforce through the delivery of free Employer Workplace Training, increasing employee productivity and efficiency, whilst reducing risk and turnover.

Foundation Skills for Your Future is also available to eligible individuals wanting to improve their LLND skills and increase their employability through free Personalised Training.
