FSK20119 Certificate II in Skills for Work and Vocational Pathways

The Certificate II in Skills for Work and Vocational Pathways is designed for individuals who require further foundation skills development to prepare for workforce entry or vocational training pathways.

The qualification is suitable for individuals who require:

  • A pathway to employment or further vocational training

  • reading, writing, oral communication, learning and numeracy skills primarily aligned to the Australian Core Skills Framework (ACSF) Level 3

  • entry level digital literacy and employability skills

  • A vocational training and employment plan.

To obtain this qualification students must successfully complete the required assessment tasks.

This certification has 14 units (1 core + 13 elective).

You should enrol if you are:

  • a school leaver seeking a strong foundation for your career

  • an individual looking to transition into a new job

  • someone eager to enhance your confidence and competence in the workplace

Core Unit: 

FSKLRG011       ​ Use routine strategies for work-related learning

 

Elective Units:

FSKDIG003        ​ Use digital technology for non-routine workplace tasks

FSKLRG009       ​ Use strategies to respond to routine workplace problems

FSKLRG010       ​ Use routine strategies for career planning

FSKOCM004      ​ Use oral communication skills to participate in workplace  meetings

FSKOCM007      ​ Interact effectively with others at work

FSKNUM014       Calculate with whole numbers and familiar fractions, decimals and percentages for work

FSKNUM015        Estimate, measure and calculate with routine metric measurements for work

FSKNUM019       Interpret routine tables, graphs and charts and use information and data for work

FSKRDG010        Read and respond to routine workplace information

FSKWTG009     ​  Write routine workplace texts

BSBTEC201        Use business software applications

COURSE STRUCTURE

  • Face-to-face delivery

  • Off-campus activities

DURATION

  • 30 Weeks part-time [can be completed earlier]

  • Face to face class time 12 hrs p/wk 

  • Study time up to 8 hrs p/wk

Minimum requirements for this course:

  • Must be a minimum of 15 Years

  • Language, Literacy, Numeracy and Digital (LLND) at a Year 10 high school level

  • Provide photo ID prior to course commencement

  • A computer with internet access [If you don't have this, please contact us to discuss possible solutions]

  • Technology skills to access and navigate the internet

  • The ability to create, open and save electronic files

  • Some experience using computer software such as Microsoft Office Suite

  • Confidence to work independently
